Gyrfalcon
attacker

Reason for development
After building a large number of heavy destroyers for the Earthforce Navy and receiving a large order for Guard class corvettes, Rocketdyne decided to consolidate its superiority in the market and overtake other competitors besides Karmatech. As a result, Rocketdyne, which had recently established new shipyards in Jupiter’s orbit, offered the Earthforce Navy Command a low-cost assault ship with good strike potential. Not as a replacement for the Furies, with which it would be pointless to compete, but as a complement.
Rocketdyne’s strong ties with Fleet Command also played a positive role.

Cheap and cheerful
The concept for the attacker was chosen quite simply: effective armament, sufficient maneuverability, and favorable cost.
Rocketdyne planned to gain market share by creating a more powerful vehicle at the price of a fighter. It didn’t quite succeed, although they refused to use the latest technologies in favor of the old proven ones to make it cheaper.
Still, the attacker was reliable and functional, thus taking its place in the fleet of the Earth Alliance.
