Langgam
small transport
Reasons for development
“Langgam” was developed in perhaps the most difficult times for the Centauri Republic. There were no resources to develop and produce large transport ships. We had to make do with what we had.
Then, in 2283, the Centauri nobility, longing for better times, tried to express their position with dignity. The resources for flaunting were long gone. But diplomatic and trade relations demanded to look representative. Therefore, there was a need for transportation of increased comfort, but produced within their means.
A comfortable workhorse
The Langgam class transport was just that, a small, decent multi-purpose ship. It was used by diplomats, merchants, nobles, and many other Centauri to transport both passengers and cargo.
To allow the Langgam to fly into the bays of space stations or large ships, the vertical wings fold down, thus reducing the height of the ship.

Strengths
Suspended container
In addition to the internal cargo compartment, the Langgam could be attached to a cargo container on the external suspension with a total volume of 630 cubic meters. Of course, for serious cargo transportation it was a ridiculous volume, but for small trade of private entrepreneurs it was quite suitable.
Military use
For the military, the small transport also came in handy as a scout, support ship, or officer transport. The 2 pulse cannons were powerful enough to threaten a corvette or even a frigate. And pirates in those days could be deterred.
Langgam and Itaro
When the Centauri began designing large ships again, they took the Langgam’s dimensions into account when calculating hangar capacity. Thus, the hangar of the new large, multifunctional Itaro-class ship had room for two small transports.
Total produced
During 58 years of operation 778 machines were built, which served the Centauri Republic faithfully and faithfully, having proved themselves with the best side.
